Afiqah is the Managing Director and Founder of IPSury Enterprise. She graduated from Kobe University, Japan with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (BEng, 2011) before pursuing her Master’s degree in Science for Electronic Engineering with Business Management (MSc, 2012) at the renowned King’s College London.
While overseeing IPSury, Afiqah also held a position at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland, through the prestigious Young Experts Program (February 2023 – February 2025). She is proud to be the first Malaysian to serve as a Young Expert at WIPO. In her first year, her responsibilities included engaging with youth to raise awareness on intellectual property (IP), supporting Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) users, and publishing the official PCT Gazettes on a weekly basis.
In her second year at WIPO, she joined the Customer Experience Section, where she contributed to WIPO’s digital marketing initiatives, including the preparation of digital content for WIPO services and the implementation of WIPO newsletters.
Prior to leading IPSury, Afiqah served as an IP Consultant, where she gained extensive hands-on experience in managing and advising on patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and copyrights. Over the course of her career, she has worked closely with a diverse range of clients, guiding them through the processes of protection, prosecution, portfolio management, and strategic utilisation of their intellectual property assets.
Afiqah is a certified IP valuer as well as a registered patent agent, registered trademark agent, and registered industrial design agent.
