Mrs. Nor Athirah Binti Khairol Anuar graduated with LL. B (Hons) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia in 2014. Upon being called to the Malaysian Bar in 2015, she was engaged as a Trademark Executive in one of the prominent IP firms in Kuala Lumpur. She obtained experience in advising the client regarding their trademark portfolio, handling trademark filings, responding to an office action, preparing opposition papers as well attending hearings. Apart from handling matters at the Registry level, she also has experience advising clients on advertising law, entertainment law, media law as well as gaming law. Thereafter, she was engaged as a Legal Associate in one of the top IP Firms in Kuala Lumpur where she provided legal opinions and advice to clients on IP enforcement, IP infringement, IP oppositions, and domain name disputes. She also has experience handling IP cases at the High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court.
With a view to becoming an expert IP practitioner, she pursued her Master of Laws in Intellectual Property under a WIPO programme at Queensland University of Technology, Australia in 2018. She is also a registered Trademark and Industrial Designs Agent. She also attends conferences in relation to Intellectual Property such as the First IP & Innovation Researchers of Asia Conference 2019, JPO/IPR Training Course for IP Protection Lawyers in Japan (2019), WIPO General Course on Intellectual Property 2020, HALAL Executive Training 2021, MARDI Food Packaging and Labeling Course 2021.
She has been actively invited to give talks on Intellectual Property for local SMEs for government bodies like Majlis Amanah Rakyat, Mardi and many more. She also has been appointed by the International Islamic University of Malaysia to be their Industrial Associate Lecturer for the Faculty of Law.
She is also recently being certified as an official WIPO Trainer under the ASEAN-WIPO TT Programme and HALAL Executive by JAKIM.
